PRIVACY POLICY AND DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT ('the Policy) (Version 1/9/2013)

The Scottish Ladies Open Tour ('The Tour') has established this Privacy Policy and Data Protection Statement to explain how it protects and manages the personal information that it collects from you (the customer).

1. Our Principles

As a data controller we are required to comply with the eight Data Protection Principles.

The Data Protection Principles are legally enforceable rules of good practice that organisations and individuals must apply when they process your personal data. The Act says that all personal data must:

  • be processed fairly and lawfully as required under the Data Protection Act 1998
  • only be obtained and processed for specified and lawful purposes
  • be adequate, relevant for the purpose and not excessive
  • be accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date
  • not be kept longer than necessary
  • be processed in accordance with the data subject's rights
  • be kept secure
  • not be transferred to other countries without adequate protection for the rights and freedoms of the data subject.

3. Consent for Collection, Use & Disclosure
Your use of the this site and/or your registration for services constitutes your consent to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Policy, please do not use the site.

The Tour may occasionally update this Policy. When it does, The Tour will also revise the "Version" number at the top of this Policy.

4. Accountability
The Tour collects, at the time of your registration or contact by use of The Tour's site your name, email address and telephone number, certain “personal information” (information that personally identifies you) including but not limited to your name, email address, telephone number, credit card details (where provided) and information about your computer hardware and software (e.g., IP address, operating system, browser type, access times, and referring web site addresses).

The Tour has implemented this Privacy Policy to protect personal information received from its customers, and to respond to any inquiries. The Privacy Policy also provides that The Players Tour will not share personal information with any third parties.

5. Purposes For Collecting Personal Information
The Tour collects and uses personal information for the following Identified Purposes:

(a) to understand customer needs regarding The Tour’s services;

(b) to develop and provide our web site and our services for our customers;

(c) to fulfil your requests for services or information;

(d) to communicate with customers and site visitors, when necessary, and to inform customers of services available from The Tour;

(e) to protect the services, products or rights of The Tour, including but not limited to the security or integrity of the The Tour website (www.scottishladiestour.co.uk); and

(f) to identify and resolve technical problems concerning The Tour’s website and services.

(g) for the legitimate purpose of administering professional golf tournaments.

6. Limiting the Collection of Personal Information

  • The Tour limits its collection of personal information to only that information which is necessary for the Identified Purposes. 
  • The Tour does not direct its site to, nor does it knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of thirteen.
  • When you visit the The Tour web site, a cookie may be placed on your computer or the cookie may be read if you have visited the The Tour site previously.

7. How long the information is kept for

  • Information pertaining to current members is held on record indefinitely. Once membership has lapsed or the member has resigned the records are destroyed.

8. Who has access

  • The co-organsers of the tour have access to the data.

9. Disclosure, Processing & Retention

  • The Tour does not sell, rent or disclose your personal information to anyone else.

10. Security Safeguards
The Tour will use reasonable efforts to protect customers. 

  • All data is stored on password protected computers and accounts using secure encrypted servers.
  • Entries are securely processed using BlueGolf (see www.bluegolf.com for details on their security measures) and stored on secure servers.
  • All credit cards are securely processed using Stripe (see www.stripe.com for details on there security measures)
  • Members bank details are securely held with our bank. No paper copies of these details are held by the Tour.
